Momentum Life

An Obsidian plugin for tasks, habits, fitness, nutrition and studies. Everything is stored as plain Markdown notes inside your own Obsidian vault.

Google Tasks sync

Momentum Life can synchronise your tasks two ways between the notes in your Obsidian vault and your lists in Google Tasks. A task you create in Obsidian appears in Google Tasks, and a task you create in Google Tasks appears in your vault. Each board in the plugin is paired with one list in Google Tasks.

This sync is optional and turned off by default. It does nothing until you enable it yourself in the plugin settings and connect your Google account. You can disconnect at any time, and your notes stay in your vault when you do.

What the app accesses, and why

When you enable the sync, Momentum Life asks Google for permission to read and write your tasks. That permission is used for exactly two things:

Nothing else in your Google account is read or written. Momentum Life does not access your email, your files, your calendar or your contacts.

Your task data is never sent to a server owned by the author. The plugin talks to Google directly from your own device, and the synchronised content is written only to Markdown files in your vault. The details are in the privacy policy.
